Gymnastics A.C.T. was established in 1969 and Incorporated in 1982 to oversee and coordinate the delivery of gymnastics programs within the A.C.T.

The A.C.T. currently has a number of registered clubs offering gymnastic classes for children aged two years and up.

Gymnastics aims to improve and develop a child's gross motor skills through a variety of activities, such as running, jumping, skipping etc. Participants learn to control their bodies in a variety of situations, on or off the ground, right way up or upside down.The very nature of gymnastics is to enhance physical abilities such as:
  • Flexibility
  • Strength
  • Muscular Endurance
And basic motor abilities such as:
  • Balance
  • Agility
  • Coordination
  • Spatial Awareness Gymnastics physically and mentally prepares children for all sports.
